新斯高沙省中華會館（Chinese Benevolent Association of Nova Scotia）
新斯高沙省中華會館於1953年由幾位華僑老前輩創立，是全加中華會館在本省的分支機構。作為正式註冊的非牟利團體，其宗旨及目的在於，對內聯絡感情，排難解紛，辦理華僑公益事業，加強華裔族人的團結；對外促進邦交溝通及與其他族裔居民的交流，爭取正當權益和公平待遇。
近60年來，新斯高沙省中華會館風雨坎坷，歷換了十多任的理事會。老華僑們熱心參與公益，無私為社團奉獻，在團結華裔加拿大人，分享中華文化，建設和睦社區方面作了大量的工作。會館堅持自身的辦會宗旨，走出了一條獨特的辦會之路。我們團結本省的廣大老華僑和大多數華裔中小業主，讓會館成為他們聯繫的紐帶和交流的平臺；我們關心加國和祖國的國家大事，多年來會館組織會員參與了加拿大國慶和中國國慶晚宴，香港、澳門回歸系列活動。參與雲南地震、華北水災、四川汶川地震等籌款活動。積極支持和參與有關對華人的人頭稅賠款及排華法案反正等活動，積極爭取華人的合法權利，樹立華人勤勞守法的良好社會形象；我們堅持每年舉行新年迎春聚會、中秋團圓聚會、清明拜山以及夏日郊遊等團體活動。會館理事逢年過節訪問耆老家庭，並協助有需要的家庭妥善料理耆老百年之後的身後事。盡心盡力地弘揚中華優良文化，踏踏實實的傳承慎終追遠的傳統美德；我們積極支持配合其他華裔團體的各項活動，組織和參與龍舟節、新年迎春宴會、加東乒乓球錦標賽等活動，為凝聚華裔力量添磚加瓦。
多年來，我們積極參與與各省的會務交流，力求達到精益求精，共同進步，取得更好的成果。1991年5月，新斯高沙省中華會館派出代表參與組建全加華聯會。1999年7月3日至8月1日，第七屆全加華人聯合會會員代表大會在本省Halifax召開。會上代表們進一步分析新移民法案，探討華人如何面對21世紀的挑戰及加拿大統一等問題，並通過採取步驟完善全加華人聯會組織架構的決議。
2017年，新斯高沙省中華會館舉行了年度大會。會上選舉了以阮志宏(Michael Ruan)為會長的新一屆理事會。新一屆理事會成員中还包括副會長兼財務 David Cheung 張文偉，副會長兼宣傳 Jinbo Chen 陳錦波，副會長兼耆英婦女事務 Hong Wang 王紅，秘書及外聯理事 Miki Qian 錢佳穎，會籍管理理事 Fan Yang 楊帆，文娛活動理事 Ming Yao 姚明，體育活動理事 Shawn Huang 黃向東，青年事務理事 Yuan Cheng 程遠，財務助理 Rongyi Zheng 鄭茸一，名譽會長 Eric Yeung 楊力維，資深顧問 Fred Fong 方耀榮，顧問 Seto Ping 司徒炳輝，Wen Huang 黃文。
新一屆理事會的全體成員將秉承中華會館一貫的宗旨，齊心協力的做好會館各項工作，為會員提供優質高效的服務。實現本會館“聯繫華人家庭，凝聚華人力量，弘揚中華文化，融入主流社會”的目標，帶領會館創造更美好的將來。我們衷心希望各位會員積極參與會館的活動，多提寶貴意見，不遺餘力地指導我們的工作。同時，我們也鼓勵周圍的朋友和非會員早日入會成為會館的一分子。
The Chinese Benevolent Association of Nova Scotia (CBANS) was founded in 1953 by a few pioneers as a branch of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association. As a registered non-profit organization, the goals of the CBANS are to provide mutual support and leadership within the Chinese Canadian community, to promote equality for Chinese Canadians and to foster better understanding with other community groups.
No matter how time changes, during the past six decades, the CBANS has continued to focus its activities on the changing needs of our community. Uniting the local Chinese community, the CBANS is an important link among our members who share, support and communicate. Highlights of our involvment and past efforts include the Canada Day and Chinese National Day celebration, celebration for Hong Kong and Macau’s return to China, participation in Sichuan earthquake and other natural disasters relief funds, and a redress on the Head Tax and Exclusion Order imposed on early Chinese immigrants. It is also the organizer for numerous annual social events such as the Spring Festival and Moon Festival gatherings, tomb sweeping on Qingming Festival, and summer trips. The executives of the CBANS help support members in need, especially and mostly the seniors and their families. Together with other Chinese organizations, it has co-hosted popular social and multi-cultural events including the Chinese New Year Banquet, Atlantic Canada Ping Pong Tournament and Dragon Boat Festival.
In 1991, delegates from the CBANS planned to join the National Congress of Chinese Canadians (NCCC). In 1999, the 7th Annual Meeting of the NCCC was held in Halifax for the first time. Some of the main topics during this meeting included discussing how the Chinese community was to face the new challenges of the 21st century.
In year 2017, as the result of the election of the CBANS Annual General Meeting, Mr. Micheal Ruan was voted as the Chair, Mr. Eric Yeung the Honourable Chair, Mr. Fred Fong, Mr. Seto Ping, and Mr. Wen Huang are the Honourable Advisor. Other members include David Cheung, the Vice Chair & Accountant; Jinbo Chen, the Vice Chair & Marketing; Hong Wang, the Vice Chair & Problic Relation; Miki Qian, Secretary and Outreach; Fan Yang, Membership Management; Ming Yao, Culture & Events; Shawn Huang, Sports & Activities; Yuan Cheng, Youth Affairs; Rongyi Zheng, Financial Assistant.
The new executive committee will continue to focus on the needs of our community and enhance the goals of uniting our voice and promoting our culture while integrating ourselves of the mainstream into the Canadian society. As our members, we encourage you to continue supporting and providing us with feedback in order for us to do an even better job. For non-members, as you are reading this message, we welcome you to join us in creating a better and stronger future for our community.
